Retail Expo Wrap Up
Well we’ve had another successful year at the Retail Expo, with a mix of both new contacts and existing customers coming to see the Pronto Team.
We received many positive comments from visitors about the stand and about PRONTO-Xi, with the integrated retail supply chain demonstration a stand out (apart from our little forklift, which we could have sold a few of)!

A Common Goal....
A common conversation theme we are hearing at the show is how to win in today’s highly competitive retail race.
Retailers are keen to find ways to meet the challenges of optimising back-end processes and maximising efficiencies without compromising service standards. The bottom line of controlling spending and maintaining margins remain as key priorities.

Setting up..
Well we spent today setting up the stand and needless to say we had our fair share of challenges.
It all went well, apart from a faulty power supply in one of our POS units, some missing power cords, a plasma screen that really, really likes the colour purple and some keyboards that didn’t quite fit. Nevertheless we got there in style.

Just wanted to give a couple of “plugs” to two particluar companies who have done a great job in supporting Pronto Software at this year’s show.

Conversation Between Marketing and Management
Marketing: We'd like to have a forklift on our stand this year at the Retail Expo
Management: A what?
Marketing: A forklift. Not a big one.
Management: And (I'm almost afraid to ask) what will you do with this forklift?
Marketing: Pick goods up from the warehouse and drive it to the store.
Management: You do know you're supposed to be showing PRONTO-Xi at the show?
Marketing: No worries, the forklift is part of our retail supply chain demonstration.
Management: Please explain.
Marketing: Well, you can come to the stand and see PRONTO-Xi in action. See the goods coming into the warehouse, pick them from the shelf (using the mini forklift) and despatch them to the store, where you can "purchase" the goods using PRONTO-Xi Point of Sale.
Management: Is there a coffee machine this year?
Marketing: ummm.. yes.
Management: Good, see you there!
